Lindberg Model kits: Jolly Roger Series: 2nd & 3rd Releases!

Lindberg welcomes 2 more 1:12 scale figure kits aboard Jolly Rogers.  Because of the popularity of last year’s of the Jolly Roger Series: Hex Marks The Spot, not only will we be doing a second run but we are also releasing the next 2 in the series: Dismay Be The End and In The Pinch of Peril.  Each kit portrays a skeleton pirate posed mid struggle within a beautifully detailed scene.

Abandoned by his crew and shackled to a stone, he was left as gator bait for “Dismay Be The End”.   The pirate skeleton sits on a mound of sand, chained to a rock, guarding a barrel of grog.  Strewn around him are bones and the remains of some creature.  A hunger alligator is lunging for his leg.  A rubber band powered sword chops at the furious beast.  The kit sits at 5″ tall and 10″ wide.  Bonus 1:1 pirate coin and medallion are included.

As the sand pulls him deeper, a giant crab is looking for a bite.  He has found himself “In The Pinch of Peril”.  The seconds skeleton tries to pull him free, but instead pulls his arm out of the socket. The kit sits at 6″ tall and 6″ wide.  Bonus 1:1 pirate coin and medallion are included.

Look like fun models. Always glad when more Lindberg comes out. Can we have the “Robert E Lee” repoped now pretty please?!They’re going for a fortune right now online.

  2. EjIMBo says:

The box art/layout is absolutely fantastic! Gorgeous use of colour and imagination! The kits themselves were a lot of fun to build and paint! I highly recommend these to anyone looking for something different!

  3. Jeff says:

I send my thanks to you folks at R2 for bringing these fun kits into the light of day again. I built them when I was a kid, and will be building them again (a lot better this time!) with the Lindberg pirate skull as the centerpiece. Fingers are crossed and wallet is ready, hoping you’ll be able to finish the series (2 more left after these, right?)

I might as well ask, is there even a possibility of the Haunted Mansion kits (similarly rebranded, likely) in the future? Are the molds even available?

  4. Hans says:

Were can i find the “Dismay be the end”- and “In the pinch of peril”-kits?

  5. Brian says:

Glad to see the Hex Marks the Spot kit was popular enough to continue running this series! Curious if these will contain decals as well, something not in the original kits.
In answer to Jeff, there’s actually four more of these, the last two being larger kits made up of figures from the first five.
I’d also put in a vote for the Haunted Mansion kits, which were part of MPC’s Zap Action line.

  6. Tom says:

    Bring back the octopus please!
I have purchased all these kits and will purchase any others produced.
I would also vote for the kits from the scary house.

  7. SHIPKIT says:

    Ahoy there mates-

As a 20 year member of the Pirate’s FLAG Modeler’s Club in NE FLA. I am a true “pirate” at heart. By the way the FLAG stands for Florida and Georgia, in case you were wondering!

I have loved “ALL” of the Lindberg ship model kits from the Jolly Roger series right down to the shrimp boat kits and classic sailing vessels. I must have built and sold at least 3 of every ship kit that Lindberg ever produced.

I also have converted many of the Lindberg kits into working radio controlled models and the conversion is very easy to do with just a bit of tinkering. I converted the Nantucket LIGHTSHIP to the AMBROSE, added a fog horn, electric speed control, motor, interior lights and even a light in the light tower.I won numberous 1st place awards with this model.

Thank you so much for bringing back these old pirate kits once again. I will be collecting the entire set ASAP.

    A life long “PIRATE”

  8. Drake says:

I’ve waited more than 30 years to see these kits re-released. I’ve ordered a case of each so far and will continue to do so. (I don’t want to run out of parts for other projects) Hopefully, you’ll be able to release the other 4 as well as the “Haunted Mansion” kits. Thank you and please keep digging for all those great old molds.

  9. Eric Hudspeth says:

What ever you do don’t stop now, you have to complete this series at least. Like the others I’ve waited years to get my hands on these without paying 250.00$ a pop on eBay for the originals. At that price you can’t afford to build them, and they were born to be built!!! Couldn’t afford them when I was a kid, but I can now so PLEASE continue you great work!

    Sincerely
    Eric H.

  10. Calvin Green says:

Hello, Calling for a big kit? Want to make a “killin” !? A 1/350 U.S.S.Excelsior !!!!Thanks for listening!

  11. Matt says:

Where are the others in the series, and how come they are not listed on the Lindberg section of the site ?

  12. Tom says:

Looking forward to 2019 for more kits!
