I’m not going to say much in this post. I’ll let the image speak for itself for a while.
We will have more news on the Alien license at Wonderfest. Feel free to speculate until then. 🙂
Jamie, please tell us this means Halcyon re-pops. Please, oh, please. Well, at least as far as the APC + Dropship go…
Great news Jamie. Same with the new NX01 and new bridge. NOW lol are we any closer to getting our pre order emails for our Premium edition Grail of grails yet .
I thought I could get the update out this week. Obviously didn’t happen. Look for it Monday or Tuesday. It will give a rundown of the order process. We’ll send out the emails to start taking orders by the end of the month. I can say the product is being loaded on a boat right now!
Great news. Will this be the Final Club Update? Also I was doing as another builder did and was printing out the previous Updates, but the first five have lost the pics. Is there any way to recover these?
Jaws- This won’t be the last one. We’ll have one more close to when the kits ship out to you guys. I’m not sure how to send the stuff from the first five. I’ll look into it when I have a chance.

This will be awesome!! I hope new re-ops of the Halcyon kits as well. Maybe the 1:1 Facehugger etc.
Hey Jamie, I saw the news of the re-op of the Star Trek Bridge. Any news on if it will be complete (with the missing stations now included), and more accurized?
We are looking at doing more than just the figures. we want to nail down the costs involved before we announce everything we will be doing with it.
Jamie – Assuming you will not be using the old Halcyon molds for Alien kits, may I humbly suggest you ask Martin Bower and/or Bill Pearson to help design new kits for the Nostromo, Refinery, and/or Narcissus?
Is the Ktinga on display at iHobby just the old version of the kit? I always thought the “head” would be the first place to make revisions, but the photos on the net look like the same old kit.
On the K’tinga, we had to keep this release simple. We adjust a couple fit issues and we’ve added some decals to dress up the front bulb a little bit.
Great news about the Alien franchise! Looking forward to seeing what you come out with down the road!

Doug Drexler mentioned something interesting on his Facebook page regarding the upcoming NX-01 refit and the original NX-01.
“Doug Drexler – I’ve volunteered to create original art for the Box. They will also be re-releasing the NX-01 kit as well, which is 1000% authentic. Every teeny weenie detail is there, and it’s a BIG kit too.”
Can you confirm this? Is he referring to the 1/350 scale NX-01?

Great news on the ALIEN license. At Wonderfest this year at the new product announcement upstairs you asked what licenses we thought R2 should go for, I suggested ALIEN. Did you have the license at the time or were you already working on getting it?

I would love to see 1/1000 versions of both the Nostromo and the Sulaco.
Nostromo = 243.8m
Sulaco = 385m
Both of these kits would be great a great desktop size, and as a bonus, they’d also be in scale with your some of your recent “Trek” offerings.

Jamie , its Tuesday, will we be graced with the Club Update today
I had hoped to, but believe it or not I accidentally wrote over my text file yesterday and fires have sprung up today that have prevented me from getting it polished back up. I have the bones, but I lost about two hours worth of writing.
FYI, what other kinds of things keep this from being my priority? Things like adjusting final packaging artwork to meet comments from the licensor for two products and email trouble. Stuff like this doesn’t get pushed back for any glorious reason, just day to day business… I will either rewrite it this afternoon or take it home with me tonight and hope we can have our service release it tomorrow. I’ve got a couple days off coming up and I need to get it out before that.
J – Can you say whether or not you’ve acquired the Halcyon molds/license or just that old AMT Alien Warrior kit? Or does this mean all new tools as you move forward?
Also, on the NX-01 refit, will your team be developing aztec wall paper decals in a similar fashion to the 1k Refit?

We are starting with the MPC Alien kit and we will be doing a lot more with the license. I like leaving you guys in suspense for a while. 🙂

Hey Jamie, any closer to the 1701 Update
Jamie – Lots of great product announcements. Please consider further enhancements to the ST Bridge kit beyond figures, accurate seats, consoles, turbolift doors, additional stations, etc.
Show a photo of your booth on one of the forums and a couple of kits were displayed that haven’t been mentioned, the F/A-18A Hornet and what looks like a F-15C. They look to be 1/48, correct? I didn’t realize AMT owned these molds, are other aircraft kits being considered? Being a big military aircraft fan, I hope you do produce more of these types of kits.
Spock- I know we are starting to trickle out aircraft kits, but I haven’t worked on the kits you mention. I did have a couple in mind, but we found out that we don’t have the tools. We have a handful of aircraft tooling and we will be rolling them out a bit at a time.

Jamie, I sent you an email over the weekend in regards to the ordering procedures from the latest club update. I actually signed up an Autoworld account over the weekend and bought the Psycho house for that can’t turn down price. Is this going to affect how I purchase my Premier Kit with the password or link you will provide me (any day now woohoo)?
Jaws- I don’t expect it will cause a problem. you will just have less to do when you receive our email. I am double checking just to be sure though.

Jamie, any news for club members on when we will receive the pre-order email for the big E?
Yes, keep a look out. The order email could be sent literally at any moment. We are double checking our ordering system to make it as water tight as we can to make sure everyone on our list gets the opportunity to buy their reserved kit. The email could be sent as early as this afternoon, but if you don’t see it keep an eye out through the rest of the week.
Jamie , does this mean that we will have the kits in our hands within the next week or 2? Have they hit our shores already? I havent seen my email yet, but I keep looking like a kid on christmas morning.
The order email will go out today or tomorrow. It will tell you what you need to know.
Jamie – Previews magazine is the monthly catalogue in which comic book stores order product from Diamond, their distributor. A new Previews came out yesterday, and the Big E is still not solicited in it. Will the Big E not be available via comic book stores? All the other R2 Start Trek kits have been.
On the Alien front, I really want to see a Nostromo and a Refinery model some day.
I am not sure when Diamond will choose to list our product. That is out of my area.

I am actually writing the last update right this moment. I plan on sending it out a few days before the kits start shipping out to you guys.
Jamie do you have any info on when we will hear what kits to expect for the Alien franchise? Will we hear something before Wonderfest or any other model shows?
I think Wonderfest would make the perfect place to announce our intentions for the Alien license. 🙂
BTW guys, feel free to lay out what YOU want to see. We are developing our plans, but if there is something you hope to see let us know. Hardware or figures, the first two films are full of prime candidates.
Would love to see a 1:1 facehugger and egg with a tail that can wrap around your neck so you can wear it as a mask 🙂 Would also love to see a new Narcissus. Maybe a 1:1 motion tracker from Aliens (I know … wishful thinking)?
If you have the MPC molds, would like to see the old Six Million Dollar Man kits that were released under the fundimensions line! I am probably in the minority for this series, but Steve Austin was cool when I was a kid! The Bionic Bustout was the first figure model kit I ever built! 🙂
Other than 1/1000 versions of both the Nostromo and the Sulaco, how about 1/72 scale models of the Narcissus, the Marine Dropship, and/or the APC? Or maybe an APC in 1/32 scale…
Or how about 1/6 scale figures of Ripley and several of the Marines from Aliens (e.g., Hicks, Hudson, and Vasquez)?
Is that update going to include how we pay for our 1701 club Enterprise?

Yes, all 1701 kits will be distributed so there will be a “1 of 1701” and “1701 of 1701”. Kits will not be distributed in order though. Also, the store order number has no correlation to the kit number or number of kits sold. The order number is represents the total number of product sold through autoworldstore.com since the system was put in place.
Hey Jamie. The web site has the light kits as buy now. Are these in stock already? I preordered my accessory kit from Cult. Will they be in soon?
No, they aren’t here yet. They are apparently available for preorder though. The autoworldstore.com site is its own thing. I’m never privy to what goes on there. I have a little bit of input into our own website in that I supply information for it.

My thanks to you Jamie, along with Gary Kerr, Mike Anderson, Jim Small, Tom Lowe, and everyone else involved for making this kit a reality.
Is there any update on the re-release of the Aliens Sulaco ship announced at Wonderfest 2014? I can’t find any information on this project anywhere.
Unfortunately, we won’t be bringing out the kit of the Sulaco or any other Alien kit beyond the Kane figure.
