U.S.S. Enterprise 1701 Refit: IT’S HERE!

In case you might not have heard, we’ve been developing a 1:1000 scale U.S.S. Enterprise 1701 Refit. It’s kind of been a big thing.

Well, they came in today. I bet they all fly back out today too. More are on the way. This batch should hit distributors next week and then they’ll go on to retailers soon after. Get ‘em while they’re hot!

    I do! I do!

What are you flinging at me? That isn’t a model kit! 😀

If it isn’t a company secret, about how many are in the initial shipment?

Looking forward to having this join my fleet of PL and FJ starships.

Went down and let my local shop know they were coming and remember to save me two. He didn’t know they were in yet. Love that you keep us informed.
Told him he should check out your blog. 🙂
    Thanks
Can’t wait to add them to the fleet.

Jamie – My LHS is shutting down 🙁 , but I’ll still be able to get your products at my local comic store instead. Can you tell me what the Diamond serial number is for the new Enterprise kit? And could you start to show those serial numbers on your product information webpages?

  9. eimb1999 says:

Yeah, I’ll take a few of those!

    🙂

I might end up ordering online. My LHS still hasn’t returned my call about if they’ve ordered it or will order it.

Any idea if this kit will end up at Hobby Lobby either?

You know, this is a well-engineered kit. I’m greatly enjoying it so far (though good grief, the decals take a while to apply!). You guys did a good job.

I’m gonna rain on the parade… maybe it’s just my kit, but there’s a HUGE gap between the neck and the deflector assembly, and where the trailing edge of the neck meets the strongback is a really really poor fit, including the exhaust detail. The strongback piece has rounded corners about the pylons and the fantail fit is just horrible, loose & gaps everywhere.
I really don’t see whats so great about the base, I know the old AMT one wasn’t the most stable, but this look’s like there’s been absolutely no consideration given to it, like more time was spent on the box art, and they just didn’t quite get around to designing a proper base.

I paid NZ$60.00 for this, and frankly, after all the glowing reviews of the 1:350, I had expected much more.

please tell me it’s just mine?

    Ciaron.
