MPC(R) is giving away 100 Autographed Prints!

MPC

To commemorate the return of the Space 1999 Eagle 1 (MPC791) in 1:72 scale and the Space:1999 The AlienΒ  (MPC 795) in 1:25 scale MPC (R) is randomly inserting 100 autographed mini prints into these model kits. Space: 1999 which originally aired in 1975, featured the crew of the Moon Base Alpha as they found themselves stranded on the moon when a nuclear disaster knocked it from the Earth’s orbit. Modelers have the chance to find 1 of 100 mini prints signed by Nick Tate (Alan Carter, pilot of the Eagle-1) or Catherine Schell (the alien Maya) in boxes that showcase the contributions of these two actors made to the show.

I have 2 Eagles, but no autograph. πŸ™

    Thanks for the kit!

  2. phicks says:

Do you mind telling us the odds of getting a Nick Tate autograph when we open an Eagle kit? Is it one in a hundred or one in a thousand?

  3. If you were going to release the EAGLE you should have released the HAWK at the same time.

  4. fortress says:

Great news! Looking forward to it. Would love to
see a larger scale version of the eagle transporter
    in the near future.

Glad to see the return of the 1999 kits! Jamie, will the large Main Mission section of the Alpha kit include any improvements like the rest of the kit?

  6. spock62 says:

When will the “Getting the most out of your Eagle” workbench article be available to view? Also, will Round 2 produce new-mold kits from Space 1999, like a bigger, accurate Eagle?

    • JamieH says:

We’ll be getting the article up soon. It simply got lost in the shuffle. We’ll see how the original kits sell and consider a new tooled kit if we think interest in the property warrants it.

I picked up my four Eagle repops last night at my local comic store. Bring on a new 22 inch Eagle please!

  8. Rocketfin says:

You must have run out the first batch of Eagle kits to the US, they are already getting hard to find. πŸ™‚ . (I plan on getting 3 at least). The Hawk would be awesome! I never had that kit, but always wanted one. I hope that goes well. A larger Eagle kit would be great. But maybe remold the AMT kit so the framework is hollow and accurate. That might be more cost effective. And maybe add a different module, such as a lab, or the booster packs on top. Those changes vs, a whole new tool. (unless you do the tool like you did the 1:350 TOS Enterprise and have people prepay – I’m up for that again πŸ™‚ Thanks for all your hard work guys!

  9. phicks says:

Good idea Rocketfin! I would certainly pre-pay for new Space:1999 kits if that would help get them made.

  10. Mach7 says:

    Slightly off topic,

Any news on the Exploration set?
    The Titan Rocket?

Was any thought ever given to including a scale X-20 with the Titan?

    Thanks

  11. Rob says:

    Picked them up.

    But where is the Galileo?

    • JamieH says:

The plans are still being drawn up. Getting the inside to fit has been a real challenge, but we are working diligently to make the inside look as close to the on screen appearance as we can while still maintaining completely true to the exterior.

  12. phicks says:

For the Galileo, have you considered a smaller scale for the interior than the exterior to give you more room to work with?

  13. Tomh says:

    It’s 90-days until Wonderfest.

Will there be any updates on the Trek shuttle & Reliant, as well as the Sulaco from Aliens?

How about news on more Trek Cadet Series kits?

Keep up the great work Round 2!

  14. Peter Hicks says:

Jamie- 8 weeks without an update must be a new record! Hope this is because you are all busy making and planning new kits for us. Time for another photo of your workspace? Throw us a bone!

    • JamieH says:

I was recently assigned duties to handle our Hawk & Lindberg lines as well as still handling all things sci-fi. I’ve been knee deep in the the H/L stuff for a few weeks to determine where we are and where we are going with kits in that line. Sorry i haven’t had a chance to post anything of note recently. I’m sure I can find something more interesting than pics of my desk. πŸ™‚

    Thanks Jamie,

I have the Exploration Set and the Titan.

Most online dealers and my LHS are sold out of the Eagle. Is it safe to
assume it’s sold very well? If so I hope this bodes well for a new Eagle
    kit.

Any luck finding the Hawk tooling?

I noticed that the Vostok does not have the parts to make the flying version.
Is there any chance of those parts being available in the future? I also
fly rockets and would love to fly it! Trees tend to eat rockets, so it would
increase your sales of the kit!

    Great work

    Mark

    • JamieH says:

The Eagle has done well so far, but we need to see continued sales on it. Stock at retailers should be replenished soon and before anyone asks, yes there will still be chances to find autographs included.
I hope to be in a place to say something about the Hawk tooling soon. Hopefully I can give a report at Wonderfest.
We decided not to include the flying parts for the MPC rocket kits. If you are interested, I can email you a copy of the old instructions to scratch build the parts. Shouldn’t be too difficult.

  16. RB says:

Jamie, now that you have the Hawk and Lindberg lines at Round 2, is there any possibility that some of Lindbergh’s unproduced kits, such as the Animated Series Superman and the Snap Rodan, might be reconsidered?

  17. Todd Morton says:

Hi Jamie, just wondering about an update on the Space 1999 kits, I have both the eagle and alien moon buggy kits (several of each) and I just wondered how sales are going now that it is well into May 2014? The Moonbase alpha kit has been delayed, not sure of when it’s coming out! As most of these comments below I was wondering about the Hawk kit if it will be a future kit by round 2? I also have the Star Trek Polar lights 1:350 kit and deluxe lighting kit, not built yet but that was a home run in my eyes for Trekkies! We need more of these big kits. What is the info on the Galileo Shuttlecraft? I read some comments, are you coming out with a new kit? Thanks…….

    Todd

    • JamieH says:

The Space:1999 kits have been doing pretty well for us, and we hope that continues. Moonbase Alpha has seen a slight delay, but it is nearly ready to go. Look for it this summer. We have been looking into gaining access to the Hawk tooling, but no news to report so far. Galileo is coming. It has just required a lot of planning work. Look for more info on that around the end of the month as we head to Wonderfest.

One word of advice about the U.S.S. Enterpise Cut-Away model.

Once assembled and put on display over a period of time, the thin
plastic between the bottom of the secondary hull and the display
stand tends to snap off cleanly, leaving the model off the
stand (which is great if you want to suspend it from the air on
wires). I purchased two separate models years ago and had the
same problem each time. The kits were balanced in terms of
weight distribution perfectly so the cause escapes me.

Over 209,000 hits since November 2013.

Just promoting the model hobby as we have for the past 32 years.

  20. Scifitodd says:

Just wondering, how are the Space 1999 kits doing now that both the MBA and Deluxe kits are released? And, here is the big question, HOW DO WE GET YOU GUYS TO BRING US A 22″ EAGLE TRANSPORTER? I’m thinking of starting a Facebook group just for the petition for a 22″ eagle kit. I have been asked to do so by the group members of the 1999 FB groups.
