That’s where they painted it on. Check out Trekcore.com and compare for yourself.

You could paint that on.

Bounty” that McCoy painted on at the start of Star Trek IV?

The ship as seen in the movies and Next Gen show changed sizes from scene to scene. Many modelers have speculated the scale to be very close to 1:350 scale based on the amount of crew members and comparing the size of the ship to the Enterprise while they are onscreen together in Star Trek 3. “Close” is close enough for us in this case.

It looks extremely detailed so I’m guessing a 1/350 Klingon Bird of Prey.

Having built one of the AMT versions years ago, this really makes the kit worth buying and building all over again. I’m thinking a diorama of some sort also. Thanks Round 2 🙂

I also would like to see more multi media kits from polar lights.

Are they slightly adjustable or positionable so that the model can sit a little higher than shown in the pix? Seems to me on the show in Trek 3 when it’s landing, the gear “hung down” a bit further than that.

Nice work, though! Can’t wait to build it! What an excellent mod for an already great kit! (There may be some rivet-counters out there who might disagree with me but I think that KBOP is probably the most accurate Trek kit Ertl ever made….)
