coming from the other side of the lighting argument, i don't lite them, and usually it costs more to have the clear plastic, so it just makes it harder to purchase the kits for an option that I won't need. not to be selfish, but thats just my 2 cents. Of course, in a perfect world, there would be both options, an opaque kit and a clear kit. =)

I gotta say...I like the idea of clear molded starships. Think about it, you no longer have to drill out the holes for lighting and in most cases a single bulb per hull will light an entire starship. Just use the appropriate tool and place drops of elmers glue where the portholes are. Spray with your chosen paint, then remove the elmers with a toothpick and walla! Put a bulb inside and you just saved hours on drilling, running and tying in fiber optics. Not to mention the cost of fiber optics. I know not everyone uses optics but hey, you still save the time drilling.

Actually, I'm hoping the model IS released in clear plastic... Heck I'd like to see them ALL done in clear. Makes it a lot easier to light 'em up. If you don't wanna light 'em, you just paint 'em. Usually you paint models anyway, right? :-)

A great idea I had for those wanting a cadet series stand, use the box itself! I picked up a piece of brass rod the size of the hole in the bottom of the model. Then poked a small hole in the top of the box, and fed the rod down and secured it inside with duct tape. With the new design for the box it looks excellent sitting on the shelf!

What about Dealers that are selling these kits, or is it up to the individual customer to send in the card?

Nice to know one way or another, at least I can tell the customers to then send the card in to get a set of replacement decals.

Thanks

Spock62- We will probably offer our dome stands separately at some point. We came real close to including stands in the cadet kits. It just came down to price point. We may come out with bases for that scale at some point.

mrnobudy- maybe next year... now by that do I mean I'll answer the question next year or do I mean the kit might come out next year?...

Just a thought regarding the "missing" stand in the Cadet series kits, how about selling separate stands (like the one used in the 1/1000 kits) on your website? Not only does it allow your customers to have stands for the Cadet series, but the stands can be used for other models as well. If priced right I'm sure they'd sell.
